Upper Eyelid Ptosis Surgery Anaheim

Dr. Jason Sabet-Peyman, MD. Choosing the Right Eyelid Surgery has never been easier.

As the centerpiece of the face, our eyes/eyelids communicate our level of alertness, health, and mood. Over time, as the skin around the eyelids becomes more lax, it can make us appear less alert and more tired. A blepharoplasty, designed to remove the excess skin, can have a tremendous impact on your appearance, mood, and confidence levels.
At times, the upper eyelid itself may need to be raised in order to restore symmetry or, in severe cases, to help a patient see better peripherally. This procedure involves advancing the muscle that lifts the eyelid in order to raise it. Both procedures can be done at the same time. During your consult, Dr. Peyman will evaluate you to determine which procedure(s) is best for you.

How can I tell I need an Our Procedures Upper Eyelid Lift Procedure?

Redundancy in your upper eyelid skin, drooping of the upper eyelid(s), and/or asymmetries in upper eyelid position can all be reasons to have upper eyelid lifting procedures. Patients often come to the office because they are displeased about the appearance of their upper eyelids or because they feel their drooping eyelids are affecting their vision. In any case, during your consultation, Dr. Peyman will address your concerns. If he feels your goals are obtainable and safe, he will fully explain the recommended procedure(s). He will also explain why your case may or may not be authorized by insurance.

Why do my eyelids Droop or Sag?

There are many reasons why your upper eyelids can begin to droop. The most common is the natural laxity of the thin skin above the eyelid and/or the attenuation of the thin muscles that lift the eyelid that comes with age. There is a whole host of other causes that can occur in younger individuals, some of which are emergent and others that are not. Generally, a sudden change in the eyelid position needs to be evaluated urgently especially when accompanied by other visual changes such as double vision. Other known causes include a history of prior eye surgery, trauma to or around the eyes, and history of chronic contact lens use. Dr. Peyman will determine and discuss the likely cause of your drooping eyelids at your consultation.

What results can I expect from eyelids lift?

You can expect a naturally improved position and rejuvenated appearance of your eyelids. Before starting the procedure, Dr. Jason Sabet-Peyman takes his time marking the upper eyelids appropriately with the patient in seated upright position to ensure safety and symmetry, and fine adjustments are made, if necessary, during the procedure to get the best results possible.
